Everything, beginning with its sleek new body. The Regal has been toning and sculpting his body throughout the Great Pause, and it shows. The lidded gauges and sweeping curves of the interior compliment the exterior, especially when coupled with light beige upholstery. Despite the Regal’s hefty curb weight, the 228-horsepower turbo-4 and 9-speed automatic give an energizing burst. It also handles nicely; we drove the Avenir with its optional adaptive shocks and found its calm disposition struck the perfect luxury tone.
Four adults fit comfortably inside the 2024 Buick Regal , but a fifth in the back middle position will be inconvenient for lengthy journeys—though they will have USB outlets and air vents to make short excursions more agreeable. The back seat folds flat to increase storage space to 52.7 cubic feet, and the top two model levels include a motorized tailgate. Automatic emergency braking with pedestrian recognition is standard for active lane control and parking assistance. A surround-view camera system, a head-up display, and front parking sensors are some of the extras that can be added.
Interior
The inside of the Envision comfortably accommodates four people, with ample room and elegant furnishings. With its plush front seats and big luggage room, it earns a 7. The Envision has a wheelbase of 109.4 inches and a length of 182.5 inches. In the front, the seats look narrow yet provide adequate support.
The base version features an eight-way power driver seat and a six-way front passenger seat; as you progress up the Envision grade ladder, the front seats have perforated leather, heating and cooling, and front passenger power adjustment. A console with double lids and a console with a large storage bin beneath the temperature controls and a lower storage compartment divide the front seats.
Engine
It is ready to squirt through gaps in urban traffic and is a whirlwind on the highway, as long as it is not clogged with passengers and goods. After all, it already weighs between 3,692 and 3,932 pounds without passengers. The 2.0-liter turbo-4 engine in the Envision produces 228 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque, the latter of which begins at just 1,500 rpm and continues to pull firmly through 5,000 rpm. At launch, front-drive cars struggle for traction as the turbocharger spools up. Although the engine is not noisy, it is audible, despite normal active noise reduction.
Buick’s 9-speed automatic transmission changes smoothly in most conditions, with the exception of a judder or two at low speeds. It is paddle-shifted, and its shifts may be customized using a drive-mode selector that rotates between Tour, Sport, and Snow/Ice modes in front-drive vehicles. All-wheel-drive Envisions eliminate snow/ice mode in favor of AWD and off-road modes—the latter of which is more optimistic than effective given the Envision’s low ground clearance and all-season tires. It is capable of towing up to 1,500 pounds.

A front-drive Regal Preferred costs $33,490 and comes equipped with automated emergency braking, an 8.0-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, LED headlights, and 18-inch alloys. Prices quickly increase from the base Essence model to the $41,890 Regal Avenir, which adds 20-inch alloys, a surround-view camera system, and navigation—and approaches $50,000 with optional all-wheel drive, a panoramic sunroof, and adaptive cruise control.
