The interior’s hooded gauges and sweeping curves complement the outside, particularly when combined with light beige upholstery. Despite the 2024 Buick Regal’s high curb weight, the turbo-4’s 228 horsepower and 9-speed automatic provide an exciting rush of power. Additionally, it handles well; we drove the Avenir with the optional adaptive shocks and noted that its tranquil demeanor set the ideal luxury tone.
Four adults can sit comfortably inside the Regal, but a fifth in the back middle position may be uncomfortable for long journeys — though they will have USB ports and air vents to make short trips more comfortable. The rear seat folds flat to create 52.7 cubic feet of storage capacity, and the top two trim levels have a motorized tailgate. Automatic emergency braking with pedestrian identification is standard for active lane control and parking assistance.
Interior
The 2024 Buick Regal interior comfortably sleeps four people, with plenty of space and attractive decor. It receives a 7 for its comfortable front seats and ample cargo space. The Envision has a 109.4-inch wheelbase and a length of 182.5 inches. The chairs at the front appear to be minor, yet they give enough support.
The base version includes an eight-way power driver seat and a six-way front passenger seat; as you move up the Envision grade ladder, the front seats have perforated leather, heating and cooling, and power adjustment for the front passenger. The front seats are divided by a console with twin lids, a console with a huge storage bin beneath the temperature controls, and a lower storage compartment.
Engine
It is prepared to squirt through gaps in urban traffic and is a whirlwind on the highway, provided it is not congested with passengers and cargo. After all, it weighs between 3,692 and 3,932 pounds when empty. The 2024 Buick Regal 2.0-liter turbo-4 engine develops 228 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque, the latter of which begins at just 1,500 revolutions per minute and continues to pull firmly through 5,000 revolutions per minute. Front-drive vehicles struggle for traction during launch when the turbocharger spools up.
Buick’s nine-speed automatic transmission shifts smoothly in most circumstances, except for a few low-speed judders. It is paddle-shifted, and its shifts may be adjusted using a drive-mode selector on front-drive cars that cycles between Tour, Sport, and Snow/Ice modes. All-wheel-drive Envisions omit snow and ice mode in favor of AWD and off-road modes—the latter is more hopeful than adequate given the 2024 Buick Regal’s low ground clearance and all-season tires.
2024 Buick Regal Release Date and Price
The front-drive 2024 Buick Regal Preferred starts at $33,490 and includes autonomous emergency braking, an 8.0-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, LED headlights, and 18-inch alloy wheels. Prices soon rise from the base Essence to the $41,890 Regal Avenir, which adds 20-inch alloy wheels, a surround-view camera system, and navigation—and nears $50,000 with optional all-wheel drive, a panoramic sunroof, and adaptive cruise control.
