All New 2024 Buick Regal Wagon AWD, Price – At all times, Buick has been a high-end vehicle manufacturer. But they aren’t the best vehicles out there either. So, what distinguishes the Regal Sportback from the competition? Granted, the majority of these vehicles were Chevys done up for the boardroom, but that doesn’t lessen their resale value. Regarding construction quality, the Regal is now built in Germany, which in basic terms means “superior.”
Buying a secondhand 2024 Regal is a wise investment. There are two body styles: the Regal TourX wagon and the Regal Sportback hatchback. Both vehicles include a powerful engine, a comfortable ride, and ample load space. There are various substandard plastics in the interior, and dismal fuel economy estimates. Even though this Buick isn’t as quick as its competitors, it has the highest estimated ownership costs of any midsize car.
All New 2024 Buick Regal Redesign
As a result of GM’s flirtation with German carmaker Opel, the Regal is either invigorating or fairly uninteresting, depending on your perspective. We believe it looks rather handsome in GS trim with 19-inch aluminum wheels with Technical Gray highlights and huge brushed-silver foglights. Although the rear end of the GS appears like a mix between the BMW M2 and the Lexus IS 350, the rear sport-style spoiler gives it the confidence to pull it off.
Standard on the 2024 Buick Regal GS’s exterior are halogen headlights with flash-to-pass and automated on/off and delay. All of the taillights are LED, including the turn signals. Heated and auto-dimming side and driver-side mirrors are available. However, we don’t know if it will be enough to entice younger people to purchase it.
Interior
Inside, the 2024 Regal GS has stylish and comfortable front seats that include heating, cooling, and massage capabilities. A flat-bottom steering reel and metal pedals hint at sportiness, even though the remainder of the interior and some of the materials are ordinary in their appearance. The rear seat and cargo compartment are identical to a conventional Regal. Seven carry-on suitcases and an additional 12 bags (a total of 19) fit under the back seat when it was folded. We couldn’t put them in the trunks of the TLX and the IS350 sedans because they were too large.
In addition to a fast 8.0-inch touchscreen and a mobile Wi-Fi hotspot, every GS comes with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility. Bose audio and a head-up display are among the desirable extras. Wireless charging is also a possibility.
Engine
There are no turbocharged four-cylinder engines to be found in this section. The GS is powered by a 3.6-liter V6 that develops 310 horsepower at 6,800 rpm and 282 lb-ft of torque at 5,200 pm. Automatic transmission and a twin-clutch all-wheel-drive system pair with this engine, sending the majority of power to the front wheels when cruising but allowing it to shift to the back when needed. The V6 engine puts out a nice, steady surge of energy that might make you think you’re not going too fast, but the nine-speed automatic keeps the 3.6-liter engine in its powerband.
When equipped with a naturally aspirated V6 engine and an AWD drivetrain, the 2024 Buick Regal GS was doomed. Competitors such as the Chevrolet Malibu and the Audi A5 have newer turbo engines that assist in driving up gas mileage estimates. Still, the GS suffers from the price of its vast capacity engine. Because of the engine’s peaky nature, the EPA estimates the Regal GS at 19/27/22 mpg city/highway/combined. While the Buick LaCrosse gets 25/35/29 mpg from its 2.5-liter inline-four, the Chevy Malibu gets 22/32/26 mpg thanks to its FWD layout turbocharged 2.0-liter engine. 20/29/23 mpg in the AWD 3.6-liter engine configuration.
All New 2024 Buick Regal Price and Release Date
The Regal GS is the most costly Regal in the Buick Regal lineup. The entry-level FWD 2.0T costs $25,370, while the top-of-the-line GS costs $39,070. Including taxes, registration, and a $925 destination fee, the GS is $13,700 more costly than its cheapest Regal brother. Buick faces a challenge as it gets closer to the $40,000 level since some other automakers sell better cars for the same price. For $36,395, the Dodge Charger R/T has a 5.7-liter, 370-horsepower V8 and just as much utility. Still, the capable Honda Accord Touring 2.0T costs only $36,250 and is likely the more dynamically accomplished car while being less powerful, costing roughly $2,820 less.
